How to Install Pins in Shadow Box

Whether you collect old military pins, pins with funny sayings or perhaps you have a collection of pins that you have earned through participation in different clubs, no matter where they came from, you will most likely want a way to store them. You can use a shadow box to store all of your pins as well as display them on your wall for others to admire.

Things You'll Need

Shadow box
Flat-head screwdriver
Velvet fabric
Scissors
Duct tape

Instructions

  Select a shadow box that is large enough to hold all of your pins when they are arranged how you would like them to be displayed.

  Remove the back of your shadow box by bending back the little metal tabs that hold it in place with a flat-head screwdriver. Lay it on a piece of velvet fabric. Cut around the shadow box back about an inch away from the edges.

  Pin your pins to the right side of the velvet fabric so they are arranged how you want them to be displayed. You may group them according to different themes or perhaps in the order you collected them.

  Flip the velvet fabric over so the pins are face down. Replace the back of the shadow box over the velvet fabric so it covers all the backs of the pins. Wrap the velvet fabric tightly around the back of the shadow box, using duct tape to secure all the edges.

  Replace the back of the shadow box and close the little metal tabs that hold it in place.
