  Search online for other collectors who are interested in selling specialty badges. Contact them to begin acquiring specialty badges.

  Search online for other collectors who are interested in trading. Contact them to begin trading badges.

  Prepare and mount the badges. Make sure that as much detailed information about each badge is included and mounted together with the badge, including:
  Who wore the badge?
  When did the officer who wore the badge work?
  Where did the officer who wore the badge work?
  What was the rank of the officer who wore the badge?
  Were there any interesting incidents that happened to the police officer whose badge is now in the collection?
  Photos or other memorabilia associated with the officer who wore the badge or the police department where he worked.
