Things You'll Need
Instructions
Educate yourself by reading up on Mexican pottery. Find out the era in which pieces were made and where you can find more of the similar styles. Visit museums, libraries and galleries.
Join a collectors association. There are several websites where you can speak to experts and other collectors about Mexican pottery and its history.
Narrow or broaden your choice of topics. Choose whether you like pottery made from the Mata Ortiz region, if you like Mexican porcelain pieces over earthenware pieces or if you prefer lamps to vases.
Keep your eyes and ears open for estate and yard sales. Flea markets may have great deals on Mexican pottery and ceramics, and antique shops are also great places to find these treasures. A visit to Mexico would be a great trip for adding to your collection.
