Different Types of Diamond Settings

The presentation of a diamond is directly dependent upon the setting. Settings are determined by the shape, the size and the number of stones used in the creation of your ring.
  1. Prong Settings

    • Prong Settings are the most common diamond setting. The stone is balanced between four narrow prongs attached to the top of the ring.

    Bezel Setting

    • In the Bezel Setting, the ring is molded with a flap on each side to hold a solitary diamond. The setting is a very modern and subtle look.

    Channel Setting

    • A groove is cut into the center of the ring either half or the entire circumference. The stones are cut to fit into the groove. There are several molded variations of this setting to accommodate different cuts of stones.

    Peve Setting

    • Small holes are drilled into the top of the ring, and diamonds are put in place. Peve Settings are used for multiple small stones.

    Cluster Ring Setting

    • Very similar to the Peve Setting, the cluster varies with the use of different size stones. Multiple stones are set into the ring in a prescribed pattern.
