Which U.S. Presidents Are on Paper Money?

Only five bills currently in circulation feature the images of U.S. presidents. The remaining two notes, the $10 and $100 bill, feature co-signers of the U.S. Constitution, Alexander Hamilton and Benjamin Franklin, respectively.
  1. The $1 Bill

    • The first president of the United States, George Washington, graces the $1 bill. George Washington's image was first placed on the $1 bill in 1860. His image also can be found on the U.S. quarter coin.

    The $2 Bill

    • Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States, is featured on the less-common $2 bill. Jefferson was added to the note in 1869. His image also can be found on the U.S. nickel.

    The $5 Bill

    • Abraham Lincoln's portrait is on the $5 bill. He was added to the note in 1914. His image also can be found on the U.S. penny.

    The $20 Bill

    • The $20 bill displays a portrait of Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. The $20 bill is also the only bill to feature an image of the White House on its reverse side.

    The $50 Bill

    • Ulysses Grant, 18th president of the United States, is pictured on the $50 bill. The bill features the U.S. Capitol on the reverse side.
