Major League Baseball officially began in 1903 when the rival American and National league joined forces. Since then, fans have collected baseball cards, caps, autographs, baseballs, and even jerseys, but a hardy few collect vintage baseball gloves. Baseball gloves provide a more intimate connection with the game than baseball cards or autographs. Perhaps that's the reason some hardcore baseball fans prefer to collect them.
