Bar Island

It is connected by the mainland at low tide and is a prime area for finding sea glass. The island is directly north of the West Street town pier. According to Uptake, glass found on the island typically collects at the high tide line. Check the local times for the low tide and plan your trip accordingly.
Fort Popham
Don't forget your pail or bucket when you head to Fort Popham in Phippsburg, a destination well-known by artists and tourists for its picturesque beauty. Phippsburg is located in Sagadahoc County at the mouth of the Kennebec River. The website MaineToDo.com recommends beginning your hunt around the pool to the right of the historic fort. Sea glass gathers in this area.
Peaks Island
Located 15 minutes east of Portland by ferry, Peaks Island in Casco Bay is a small, sleepy island that offers excellent opportunities for sea glass hunting, not to mention swimming and relaxing. According to "Sun Journal," you are guaranteed to find sea glass at the southwest tip of the island. Walk 1/4 mile to New Island Avenue and down Greenwood Street to the end to a small sand beach accessed by a long wooden ramp, and start your hunt.
Belfast
Located at the mouth of the Passagassawakeag River on Penobscot Bay in Waldo County, Belfast is a historic coastal village frequented by tourists. Its beaches are rated highly by the website Odyssey Sea Glass as a top sea glass hunting destination in the state. The Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce recommends visiting Belfast City Park, which has a pebble beach that is ideal for hunting for shells and sea glass.
