Things You'll Need
Instructions
Organize your seashells into categories. For example, make a group for large seashells, medium seashells and small seashells. Or categorize by shape and species.
Place each group of seashells in separate plastic buckets. Fill each bucket up with warm, soapy water. Let the seashells soak for at least five minutes. This eliminates any dirt stuck on the seashells. Rinse the soapy water off the seashells and lay them out on a clean, dry cloth. Let the seashells dry completely.
Line shoe box sized plastic bins with at least three layers of tissue paper. This creates a soft bedding for the seashells. Have each bin for a separate category of seashells, such as large seashells.
Place the heaviest seashells in your first category on the bedding of tissue paper. Place the seashells side by side until you have a full layer of seashells.
Place a few pieces of tissue paper on top of the shells. Lay your next heaviest shells on top of the tissue paper. Continue this process until all of your seashells in that category are in the bin.
Close the lid securely on the bin. Place a label on the bin lid. Indicate what type of shells are in the bin, on the label. For example, your bin with large shells would say "large shells" on the label.
Repeat with each size or category of seashells until your collection is completely stored away.
