Camping on the move
Visitors using a car or a camper to get around Germany's countryside need not limit themselves to a single campsite during their stay. Germany's tourism department recommends purchasing a Camping Card International for about $8.32 and taking a tour on the country's "Romantic Road." The route goes through from the river Main to the Alps, with stops in idyllic Bavarian villages, the Nordlinger Ries crater in southern Germany and the King Ludwig's castles. It costs between $30 to $45 per day to camp during Germany's summer, though many campsites offer discounts to those carrying the Camping Card International.
