How to Ship a Baseball Card

When shipping a baseball card to someone who has purchased the card or to a grading service to get the quality of your card authenticated, you will need to put your card in a protective sleeve. When shipping a single card, your best bet is to use a hard plastic screw-down case--available at hobby shops. This type of case is the best way to protect your card as it is sent through mail.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Slide your card into a soft plastic sleeve.

    • 2

Set your card carefully between the two sheets of plastic of the screw-down case and screw them together. The card should not be able move at all inside the case.

    • 3

Put your card in a padded envelope along with any additional information that may be needed (an invoice or a thank you note), advises Darcy Elliot in the book "The Sports Card Collectors Guide to Trading on the Internet." Fill out the shipping address and return address and place the proper postage on it. Write "do not bend" on the envelope.

    • 4

Take the card to the post office or drop it off in your mailbox. Purchase a service that allows you to track the package to its recipient.
