Things You'll Need
Instructions
Obtain a baseball card value guidebook. These books are available for purchase at most bookstores. If you only have a few cards you want to find the value for, you can look up the information right in the book at the store without purchasing it, or check out a baseball card value book from your local library.
Look up the date of the card. On the back of the baseball card in the fine print (usually at the bottom) is a printing date. Some cards also have the card's date printed in the top corner of the card. All of the baseball cards include a printed year, which distinguishes them.
Find the brand of the baseball card. Popular baseball card brands are Tops and Upper Deck. Find the specific year of the card in the pricing book, and look up your particular brand.
Identify the number of the sporting card. You can find this in the back corner of the baseball card. Look through the pricing guide for the matching number. To the right, there are two different pricing values given. The first is for a perfect condition card and the other is for a slightly damaged card. Look over your card. If there are any bends or if the corners are not perfectly crisp, the card value is the lower one. If your card is in perfect condition, your card would have the highest value.
