How to Make a Card Album

You've got your card collection, something that you spent many hours pulling together, possibly from many different sources. Now you want a handsome place to house your collection. But simply having a place to keep your sports card collection isn't good enough. You want a place where you can enjoy your collection, and maybe even show it off to your friends while you're at it. Instructions

    • 1

Remove the holes from your mylar sleeves. While most mylar sleeves already have holes punched in them, the manufacturer often does not fully create the hole. Rather, they perforate an area around the hole for you to punch out.

    • 2

Decorate your binder. A plain-colored binder is fine for school work, but your card collection deserves more. Take some time to paint or create a collage on your binder. With all the work you've put into your collection, you'll want to display it in something visually impressive.

    • 3

      Order your trading cards.

    • 4

Create a filing system for your trading cards. This allows you to look at specific cards and also makes parting with the more rare cards easier if you ever choose to do that. Some cards are easy to order. They have specific numbers that run through the entire series. Others do not have convenient numbering systems. For the latter, come up with your own filing system be it by the player's last name, or in alphabetical order by team.

    • 5

Insert your trading cards into the mylar sleeves. Do not double-side your cards. This may save space, but it also means that cards will be rubbing against one another, and it makes seeing the back impossible.

    • 6

Put the mylar sleeves into your binder. Making sure that the sleeves remain in order, stack them and insert the binder rings through the holes in the sleeves. Do this one at a time to avoid damaging your cards by accidentally bending them.
