Purchase a baseball card and sports collectible guide. While there are many guides on the market, Beckett is the leading authority in this field and their guides are available at card stores, book stores, hobby shops and online.
Look up your baseball card by brand (such as Topps or Upper Deck), followed by year and card number. Next to the number is the player's name and the value of the card. This is the value of the card is in pristine condition. Any bend or tear brings the value down.
Visit a sporting card and collectible store. Show your cards or other baseball collectibles to the owner and see if they can give you an appraisal. Tell them you are not willing to sell, otherwise they may try to give you a lower than usual value.
Contact a collectible appraiser. This is a person who knows a great deal about baseball collectibles and can give an extremely accurate price value. These individuals may charge for an appraisal, yet may offer the most accurate valuation.
