The History of Fleer Baseball Cloth Stickers

From 1968 through 1970, the Fleer baseball card company produced cloth patch stickers that kids could apply to clothing, walls, books or anything else.
  1. Design

    • The stickers had the name and logo of one Major League baseball team on one side and adhesive with paper backing on the other.

    Marketing

    • Packs contained six stickers, four baseball quiz cards and a stick of bubble gum.

    Original price

    • The manufacturer's suggested retail price of one pack was 10 cents.

    Variations

    • Stickers for the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland Athletics came in two varieties. These teams made changes to their logos during the time the stickers were sold the sticker designs reflect them.

    Value

    • In 2009, the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards valued most of the stickers at $1.50 each in mint condition. The New York Yankees and Seattle Pilots stickers were valued the most, at $3.
