Begin your search for selling your basketball cards by visiting all of the local card shops in your area. These shops are a great place to learn about the values of your cards and to get a baseline offer. Generally, the offer will be low, but it will give you a rough idea of the general value of the collection.
Check for local card shows that will be coming to your area for potential sales. If you have a large collection, it may be worth it to set up a dealer table and sell at these shows. If you only have a small collection, then attend the show and see what you can get from the dealers that are set up.
Attend a local flea market and see if others are selling basketball cards. If there is an existing market, check to see what they are willing to pay for your collection. If not, then set up a table yourself and be the first to open that market.
Create a website to sell your basketball cards. This is one of the best ways to get top dollar for your cards, as you can control the prices and the individual cards you wish to sell. It takes some work, but if you have enough cards, you can do well with this method.
Sell your basketball cards on eBay, or another auction site. This is a very effective method of selling basketball cards, because a large number of buyers can be found there. Auctions are risky, however, if you do not understand how they work. Make sure that you familiarize yourself with the process before listing your cards for sale.
Check the classified ads, both online and in print. You can often find a number of people looking to buy collections. Expect to have to sell them cheaper with this method, but it can be a very easy sale.
Hold a yard sale and place your basketball cards for sale. This method should be reserved for your cheaper basketball cards, as people always want to buy cheaply at a yard sale. This is not the place to sell your Michael Jordan RC.
