Freedom Stamps
The Postal Service issued the first-class mail Forever stamp featuring the Liberty Bell in 2007. On May 12, 2008, the Postal Service reissued the Liberty Bell Forever Stamp. Carl T. Herman, an artist in California, created the stamp using a computer-generated version of the Liberty Bell by Tom Engeman of Maryland.
Anniversary Stamps
The Postal Service unveiled a commemorative stamp on April 12, 2011, honoring the Civil War's 150th anniversary. Every year until 2015, the Postal Service will issue a keepsake sheet featuring two stamps. A stamp will portray the start of the war at Fort Sumter in 1861, while the other stamps highlight the first main battle of the Civil Ware at Bull Run. The Postal Service will designate each stamp in the series Forever stamps.
Social Awareness Stamps
The Go Green series are Forever Stamps that depict various ways people can protect the environment. The Postal Service issued the stamp on April 14, 2011. Derry Noyes of Washington, D.C., created the stamp series. It includes 16 stamps on a pane. Some actions portrayed on the stamps include share rides, composting, plant tress, ride a bike and repair water leaks. The "Go Green" Series includes 16 stamps.
Famous People Stamps
The U.S. Postal Service released the Latin Music Legend Forever Stamps on March 16, 2011. They are available in a booklet of 20 stamps with five designs created by Ethel Kessler of Maryland. This series pays tribute to Latin music performers and musicians who made impacts in American music. The musicians include Tito Puente, Selena, Carmen Miranda, Carlos Gardel and Celia Cruz. California artist Rafael Lopez painted the portraits of each musician.
