Instructions

    • 1

The first step is to determine the size of bed you are planning on making a headboard for. Once you have figured this out proceed on to the next step.

    • 2

The directions are the same for both sizes other than the large board you cut. Take your oak covered plywood and cut it to these dimensions: Twin 41" x 36" ,Full 57" x 36", Queen 63" x 36"

Now we need to cut our 1' x 4" in half so we have two 3 foot pieces.

    • 4

Now we need to attach the 1" x 4" to the back of our headboard as shown using out 1 1/2" wood screws. Mount it the leg 1 1/2" in from the edge and 18 inches up on the headboard. Repeat this on the other side. Screw 6 screws into the headboard approximately side by side where the black dots are.

Now we can paint it or stain it any color we want. If you really want to make it your kids you could let them paint it and see what they come up with.

Let the headboard dry and then bring it to the bedroom and lean it against a wall. Slide the frame up to the headboard and drill hols where the two line up. Run bolts through that and we are all set. Your kids will love this headboard.
