How to Make Homemade Headboard Designs

The first step is to put your creative hat on. These headboards can be as creative as you want them to be. Measure the width of the bed you want to make it for. Now draw out a simple design that you want to make for your headboard.

Now we need to trace the design onto the large piece of cardboard or plywood we chose to use. Now cut that design out and head on to step three.

Now we chose whatever fabric we like or brings life to the room and cover the cardboard cutout with the fabric. Be sure to pull it tight and leave all the seams in the back. I used tape and or staples to attach the fabric to the cardboard cutout.

Now we line the bed up against a wall and draw a small mark on the wall where the mattress comes up to. Then pull the bed away and mount your headboard to the wall with small screws or nails lining the bottom of the headboard with the marks on the wall.
