Things You'll Need
Instructions
Creating a bookshelves for your kids is a fun job that just about anyone can do. It is a fun project and is great for organizing games or children books. I made one in about 2 hours and we still use it to this day. Cost. ..20.00
To begin cut the 10 foot piece of wood down to 4' pieces each. These will be your sides to the bookshelf. Sand these down with a mouse sander and set aside. If you want you can paint or lacquer them also. I chose red paint because its more suited for children and is colorful. You can also paint the sides different colors.
Once these are cut you need 3 4' foot pieces of wood to use as shelves. You will also need 2 pieces of wood for the bottom and the top ... these will be the same size but an inch longer on either side.
Create a box out of these 4 pieces of wood, the tops and bottoms and the sides. Once the box is complete measure the width of the inside of the box and make 3 shelves to fit inside at intervals of 8 inches. This is an easy project and can completed within 2 hours. Use small nails about 1' long and nail them in every 5 inches all the way around. For shelves you can drill out a hole 3/8" and fit pegs inside to hold the shelves, 4 for each shelf.
