Instructions

  1. Making the Board Game Spaces

    • 1

Use one color of the duct tape for positive messages in your game such as "Move Ahead 3 Spaces" using the other color for negative messages, such as "Lose a Turn."

    • 2

Count out how many pieces of your carpet you would like to have messages on, then divide that into how many positive and how many negative you'll use. Cut rectangles 2 inches smaller on each side than your carpeting and stick them to the carpeting with the appropriately colored duct tape.

    • 3

Using the adhesive vinyl lettering, write the messages of your choice on the pieces you just taped the muslin to.

    • 4

Cut out two more pieces of muslin and affix them to two more squares. The color of duct tape you use for these does not matter.

    • 5

Use the vinyl lettering to write "Start" and "Finish" on these pieces.

    Making the Dice

    • 6

Wrap the cube shaped boxes with your large paper or wrapping paper turned inside out. Wrap them like you would a present and tape the paper securely along all folds in the paper.

    • 7

Affix your black constriction paper dots on to each cube using the glue stick. A normal die has the numbers 1 through 6 on them. Get a die from another board game to see how they are laid out (opposite sides add up to seven), or lay them out as you choose.

    • 8

Allow the glue to dry before using the dice.

    To Create Game Cards

    • 9

Write out messages for the 10 cards of poster board.

    • 10

Print these messages out on the 8 1/2 inch-by-11 inch paper using your computer.

    • 11

Attach the papers to the 10 pieces of poster board with glue stick or spray adhesive.

    Playing Your Game

    • 12

Lay out the carpet squares in any way you like; lay them out in one room or move through your house. Try to stay in carpeted rooms so the carpet squares don't slip. Place the squares you wrote messages on randomly throughout the game.

    • 13

Give each player a large die.

    • 14

Begin in the "Start" position, you can roll the dice to see who goes first or pick your order however you'd like. After figuring that out start the game and have fun.
