Most of the work in conjuring spirits comes from your internal beliefs. Construction paper, poster board, or cardboard can work as the board itself. In the book, "Spirit Guides &Angel Guardians" Richard Webster explains that his mother used a homemade angel board frequently. He writes, "She would arrange pieces of paper containing the letters of the alphabet in a circle on the kitchen table, and place an upturned glass in the center." You will also need a magnifying glass or something to use as a pointer.
Pictures
Angel boards are different from Ouija boards in that they have pictures of angelic creatures and heavenly scenes as their backdrops instead of demonic symbols or secular imagery. You can paint your own images of angels or the heavens on face of the board. You can also search for pictures from magazines or print some out that you fine online and paste them to the board.
Letters and Messages
Angel boards have the words "Yes" and "No" somewhere on the board. They will also have the all the letters from the alphabet arranged vertically or in a circle on the face of the board. Some boards even have rows of the 1500 most popular words instead of letters. Letters may take longer for the spirit to spell out what he is trying to say to you, but words can get confusing it they aren't spread apart enough on the board when the magnifier is moving around. Also, paint the numbers zero through 9 on your board.
Usage
Before you use the board, you need to be in the proper mindset. In the book, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Connecting with Your Angels" Cecily Channer advises to proceed with caution when using Angel Boards because they have a tendency "to open communication channels with less-evolved souls." Begin your séance with a protection incantation to protect you from bad spirits who may sneak in and pretend to be angels. Channer advises that use your own internal wisdom before you follow any advice given to you by spirits you've contacted.
