How to Play the Fancy Nancy Board Game

Setting Up

  Distribute game boards to each player. Make sure each player has flipped up the colored tabs on the game boards revealing the picture of Nancy's bedroom.

  Shuffle the three types of game cards -- purple "Let's Get Fancy" cards, pink "Accessories" cards and blue "Oops" cards -- into a single deck.

  Deal each player four cards face down and place the remaining cards face down in the center of the game area to serve as the "draw" pile.

Let's Play

  Draw a card from the pile. You may either play a card or discard one into the discard pile. Playing a purple card allows you to start "decorating" the room on your game board on your next turn. Playing a pink card on top of a previously played purple card allows you to roll the multicolored die.

  Use the blue cards to block your opponents. Pick one of your opponents and place the card on top of their pile. They cannot continue playing until they play a purple card.

  Note: You cannot roll the die if you have not first played a purple card.

  Roll the die after laying down a pink card. Match the color on the die to a color on your game board. Flip down the tab with the matching color to end your turn. If you roll a color matching a tab that has already been flipped down, then your turn is over. If the die lands on the picture of Fancy Nancy then you may flip down the tab of your choice.

  Win the game by being the first to flip down all of the colored tabs on your game board.
