How to Draw a Spinner for a Board Game

Game boards can keep your family and friends busy for hours. A broken spinner derails the entire game process and forces your family to look for another form of entertainment. Keep all your old board games with broken spinners or create your own homemade board game by drawing a simple spinner. Since spinners are simple devices, you only need a minimal amount of materials and construction time to complete the project. Duplicate a spinner for just about any game.

Instructions

    • 1

Place a protractor out on a piece of card stock paper. Anchor the protractor down with the point and draw a circle with the pencil. Use cardstock paper for this part of the project for its strength and durability.

    • 2

Draw sections inside the circle with a ruler or another straight edge tool. Start by drawing a line directly through the center of the circle. Next, draw a perpendicular line to divide the circle into four equal parts. Continue to divide each section in half until you have as many sections as you need for your game.

    • 3

Write in the name of each section within the spinner with pencil or a marker.

    • 4

Color in each spinner segment with markers, colored pencils or any other coloring tool. Use different colors for each segment in the spinner to make each section stand out. This makes for a more vibrant spinner and helps you determine where the arrow on the spinner lands in case it lands close to a boarder.
