Sneaky Pete Game Instructions

Sneaky Pete is a two-player board game that Pressman Toy Corp. produced in 1986. The object of the game is to capture all five of your opposing player's pegs before he captures yours. Obtain the pegs by first rolling two special dice and then deciding whether or not to bluff about the outcome. One die has the numbers 1, 2 or 3 appearing on two sides each and the other die has a picture of Sneaky Pete and five blank sides. Capture a peg when you land on an occupied space with your own peg.

Instructions

  1. Game Setup

    • 1

Place the game board between you and another player so that you're facing each other. Insert the Bluffing Shield into the center of the board.

    • 2

Select a peg color for each player, either yellow or green. Set up the pegs in the five holes in front of both players. Place the two dice on the center of the board.

    • 3

Roll the numbered die. Let your opponent roll. Whoever rolls the highest number gets to play first.

    Game Play

    • 4

Roll the dice behind the Bluffing Shield so your opponent can't see the outcome of the roll. The result of the numbered die may determine the number of spaces you move your peg on the board. First, decide whether to announce the actual number on the die or bluff your opponent. Announce either "One," "Two," "Three" or "Sneaky Pete."

    • 5

Let your opponent either believe your call or call your bluff.

    • 6

Flip the Bluffing Shield over to reveal the dice.

    • 7

Move any of your pegs the number of spaces on the die if you tell the truth and your opponent believes you. Move your peg and take an additional turn if you tell the truth and your opponent doesn't believe you.

    • 8

Move your peg the number of spaces you announced -- regardless of the number you rolled -- if you call a bluff and your opponent believes your bluff. Don't move any pegs if you call a bluff and your opponent doesn't believe your bluff.

    • 9

Call a "Sneaky Pete" if a Sneaky Pete appears on the second die. If your opponent believes your call, move one of your pegs to the nearest space occupied by your opponent's peg and remove her peg from the board. If your opponent doesn't believe your call, move your peg to the nearest space occupied by her, remove her peg and take another turn.

    • 10

Bluff a "Sneaky Pete" if you don't roll a Sneaky Pete. If your opponent believes your bluff, move your piece to the nearest space occupied by your opponent and capture his peg. If your opponent correctly calls your bluff, don't move any of your pegs.

    • 11

Let your opponent take his turn.
