How to Play the Ouija Board Solo

Ouija boards have been used for generations to contact and have conversations with spirits. It can be spooky, but if you treat the board and the spirits with respect, using a Ouija board can be a rewarding experience. Although some people recommend always having two or more people present when using a Ouija board, others prefer to use it alone. A major benefit of using the board by yourself is that you can be sure that what's happening is real and that none of your friends are moving the stylus as a joke.

Instructions

  Write down any specific questions you'd like to ask before beginning your Ouija session. This will help you to avoid forgetting anything. Take a moment to clear your mind of any distracting thoughts before you begin.

  Sit in a comfortable position. Place the board in front of you, preferably on your knees, although a tabletop or floor will also work. Place the stylus on the board and rest your fingertips on it very lightly.

  Ask a question such as "Is anyone there?" You may have to repeat this several times before you feel the stylus begin to move. If a spirit is in the room, the stylus will likely move to "Yes."

  Refer to the list that you made in the beginning and ask the spirit the questions you prepared. You may want to hold the stylus with one hand and use the other to write down the letters that are being spelled out. These are the answers to your questions so you don't want to miss anything.

  Let the spirit know when you are ready to end the conversation. Say goodbye to the spirit and wait for the stylus to go to the word "Goodbye" on the board. If this doesn't happen at first, say goodbye again until it does.
