Instructions
Shuffle all of the LIFE cards. Put them face down near the board.
Draw the top four LIFE cards and put them on Millionaire Estates. These four cards are yours should you finish the game with the most money. The LIFE cards reward you with cash for deeds such as "Curing the Common Cold." These cards are redeemable at the conclusion of the game, and the money is added to your bankroll.
Shuffle and separate the Career, House Deeds, Salary and Stock cards and place them face down near the board.
Place the Automobile, Homeowner's Insurance, Bank Loans and money near the board.
Give each player $10,000. Choose a player to act as banker.
Choose your colored car game piece and place each marker at the start position.
Choose whether you will begin a career or go to college. Place your car accordingly on the career or college start spot. If you choose college, you will take out a $40,000 bank loan before the first spin. This puts you slightly behind early on, but you can make up the difference later with a higher-paying career. Some of the Career and Salary cards will allow you to accept the job only if you have a college degree. If you decide to choose the Career path, you start making money right away without the $40,000 debt.
Allow each player who chooses career to draw one Career card and one Salary card. The cards will be placed face up in front of the player. If you choose a card that requires a degree you must return it to the bottom of the stack.
The players choosing college will draw three Career cards and three Salary cards once they land on a "Job Search" spot. Choose one of the three, and place the other two at the bottom of the pile. Do the same for the Salary cards.
Any time you land on a "Job Search" spot, you can select a new career. The same rules apply. Those who selected career choose one card from the Career pile and one from the Salary pile. Those who selected college choose three from both.
Spin the wheel. The player with the highest spin will go first. The players' turns will rotate clockwise.
Move the car forward the number of spaces indicated in the spinning wheel. Stop ahead of time only if you reach a red space. If you land on an occupied space, move ahead to the next unoccupied space.
Follow the actions indicated on the spot the car lands on. Orange spaces require the player to follow the instructions. Blue spaces present optional instructions. Green spaces indicate a payday as specified on the Salary card. Red spaces are the stop spaces that have big decisions such as Job Search, Get Married and Buy a House. If you land on an opposing player's career space, you must pay the opposing player as indicated on the career card. Any player who is caught speeding or who spins a 10 must pay the officer $10,000. If you land on a You're Fired or Mid-Life Crisis spot, you must trade in the Career and Salary cards for new ones. If you land on Buy a House, you must choose a House Deed at random from the deck.
Buy stocks at any time. They cost $50,000. You receive $10,000 any time another player spins his stock number.
Take out bank loans at any time. A bank loan is $20,000 and must be repaid with $5,000 interest.
Pay all loans and sell the house upon reaching the end of the board. Move the game piece to Millionaire Estates if you think you have the most money. Choose Countryside Acres if you do not think you have the most money. The benefit to retiring at Millionaire Estates is that you have a chance to win the four LIFE cards that were stacked there in the beginning, which adds to your bankroll and increases your chance of winning. It is a gamble to retire at Millionaire Estates though, because your cards can be taken by other players should the pile run out.
You can always play it safe by retiring at Countryside Estates, where your LIFE cards cannot be taken by other players. When retiring at Countryside Estates, you get to draw one LIFE card from the pile. If there are no remaining cards in the pile, you have the opportunity to take one from anyone in Millionaire Estates. You can still win the game by retiring at Countryside Estates.
Once all players have finished, the players in Millionaire Estates count their money to see who has the most. The person with the most money gets to keep the four LIFE cards you placed there earlier. In the event of a tie, each player gets two of the four LIFE cards.
Add your acquired cash and the value on each of the LIFE cards you own. The player with the highest total wins. It doesn't matter whether you retired in Countryside Acres or Millionaire Estates.
