Spanish Board Games

A number of popular board games have been translated for Spanish language versions. Many of these same games are currently available in the United States. The Spanish versions provide enjoyment to native speakers while also serving as a valuable tool to those seeking to improve their Spanish-speaking skills.
  1. Monopoly

    • Monopoly, the game of those who seek to build their fortunes by acquiring vast amounts of Atlantic City real estate, is also available in a Spanish version. There are also versions that use Latin American cities, such as Mexico City, instead of Atlantic City.

    The Game of Life

    • Life is the iconic board game where players advance through "life" attending college, switching careers, paying bills, marrying and having children, and acquiring real estate. Life is the first game issued by the Milton Bradley Company and was updated with a Spanish language version in 1992.

    Scrabble

    • Scrabble is a board game version of the classic crossword puzzle. Players place tiles with a point value in the attempt to complete words and win the game. The game is a good candidate for those seeking to improve their Spanish vocabulary.

    Operation

    • Operation is a classic game where players compete to perform an operation by removing vital organs from a simulated body without touching the sensitive side of the playing surface. The game requires dexterity and persistence. The Spanish language version was introduced in the early 1990s.
