Electronic Battleship Set Up Instructions

"You sank my battleship" is a time-honored and dreaded phrase for those who play Hasbro's strategy board game "Battleship." Now "Electronic Battleship" takes an advanced approach to the classic version of "Battleship" by allowing players to electronically designate their attacks to remove the possibility for inadvertant error --- and also eliminating the temptation for some to cheat. "Electronic Battleship" is a fun board game to play with a friend, but first you'll need to set it up so you're ready for action.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

  1. Set Up Instructions for Electronic Battleship

    • 1

Flip the "Electronic Battleship" game board over, and locate the battery compartment door.

    • 2

Unscrew the compartment door using a Phillips-head screwdriver, and remove it.

    • 3

Insert three AA batteries into the available slots, matching the batteries' positive and negative markings with those located by the slots. Test the game board using the on/off button to make sure the batteries are correctly inserted. A recorded message stating "Remote Terminal Activated --- Input Number of Players" will let you know that the game is ready.

    • 4

Place the appropriate sticky labels on their designated spots on the game board. Put the "Player 1" label on the side that has the on/off button.

    • 5

Remove the plastic ships and planes from the frame, using scissors if you are struggling. Remove the pegs from their bags.

    • 6

Divide the materials among both players so that each player has five ships, 100 white pegs, 50 red pegs, 25 blue pegs, one red plane and one blue plane. Place your pegs in the appropriate compartments. Note that the blue pegs and the red and blue planes are only used for Advanced Missions.

    • 7

Decide which player is Player 1 and which is Player 2. Player 1 turns on the game. After Player 1 follows the startup sequence, she then presses the button marked 2 to select a two-player game.
