Set Up
Set out the money game board and the grade game board. The money game board has $1,000,000 at the top of it. The grade game board has all the different grades on it.
Choose one money marker pawn per person and put them near the money game board. You can choose the apple, pencil, globe or the stack of books.
Set the Peek, Save and Copy game pieces as well as the card reader sleeve, the grade markers and the 1,000 markers near both game boards.
Shuffle each deck of cards separately. Place each separate stack of questions into the plastic tray. You should have a pile of each type: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and Million Dollar.
Hand out paper and a pencil to each player.
Play
Pick the top card from any of the grade levels (1st through 5th).
Slip the card into the card reader right side up, through the bottom of the reader with the red reader window at the top of the reader. The question will appear in the reader window.
Read the question aloud. Every player should be writing down their answer to the question in secret.
Answer the question aloud if you're confident you're right. Do this after everyone is finished writing down their own answers. Or, you may choose to peek at or copy another person's answer.
Reveal the answer to the question by moving the card up until you are able to see the answer through the reader window.
Move the grade marker over the grade level that you got correct. For example, if you answered a 1st grade question right, move a grade marker over one of the 1st grade spaces. These markers are the long, rounded plain-colored pieces of cardboard.
Place your money marker pawn on the 1,000 space on the money board, if you answered the question correctly. Each time you answer a question correctly, you are able to move the pawn up the denominations on the money board.
Get the incorrect answer and you may use the "Save" token.
Answer incorrectly after already using the "Save" token and your turn is over. If you go past the $25,000 mark on the money board, you are guaranteed that money and any $1,000 tokens you may earn for helping other players with the "Peek" and "Copy." You are also not able to answer the million dollar question.
Choose not to answer a question and you may be able to take the money and run. If you have read the question, have determined that you are not sure of the answer and have already used your peek, copy and save, you can keep choose to end your turn. So, if your money token pawn is on the $500,000 space when you make the decision, you get to keep that money.
Remove all markers from both game boards and continue on with the next player.
Win by tallying up the most money or being the first player to win the million dollars.
Peeking, Copying, Saving
Ask to peek at a player's answer if you're not sure of your own.
Place the 'Peek' token in front of the payer whose answer you would like to see.
Look at the player's answer and choose to use it or not. If the person's answer -- whether it was the same answer as yours or not -- is correct, that person gets a $1,000 token.
Place the "Copy" in front of a player if you aren't sure of the answer to a question.
Use the answer from that player. You have to use that player's answer when using "Copy."
Give the player a $1,000 token if it's the correct answer.
Use the "Save" token if you have answered a question incorrectly.
Place the token in front of a player of your choosing. If that person's answer is the correct one, she collects a $1,000 token and you are able to continue play.
