Things You'll Need
Instructions
Write down a plot for your game that includes a setting, a beginning, a middle and an end. The plot should tell the players what they receive as an allotment (it can be land, resources or some other reward), how to play the game and how to win the game. For example, in most allotment games, the key to winning is gaining the most resources or land, but you can make the goal of the game anything you desire.
Create a list of characters for your game and the different items you can get in the game. You can have as many different items and characters as you like, even if you don't use them all in every game.
Write a list of game rules so players can clearly see the proper way to play the game without having to read the entire plot. Include rules on how to gain allotments, restrictions on player movement and what a player needs in order to win the game.
Cut a piece of poster board to the correct size for your game board. Draw the setting for the game on the rough side of the poster board. Include different points on the map where you can set your pieces. For example, your board should have a starting point and different points throughout the board where you can move the characters.
Purchase a bag of colored plastic chips for each item in your game. Color code the items (for example, weapon items could be blue while food items could be green). Set aside the correct amount of plastic chips for each item in the game (for example, if you have 10 of each item, you should create groups of 10 chips for every color).
Purchase a small plastic figurine for every player the game allows. Spray paint the figurines different colors so players can quickly identify their plastic figurine during the game.
Laminate the sheet of game rules and the game board to help them last longer.
