Things You'll Need
Instructions
Select the wall you want to mount the dartboard on and be sure it is a suitable location before taking further steps. If the board is electronic and requires an AC adapter to power it, make sure there is an outlet nearby that the cord will reach easily. You should also be certain there is enough room to throw at the board from the proper distance. According to the rules of darts, the toe line is 7 feet 9 1/4 inches from the face of the board. The recommended room for a dartboard is at least 5 feet by 11 feet, according to the Regent Halex Dartboard Owner's Manual.
Find a stud in the center of the wall where you want the board to hang. Either by knocking on the wall and locating the stud by sound or using a stud finder, you should plan to mount the board on a stud to ensure it doesn't do damage to the wall during play, particularly if it is a drywall wall.
Mark a spot on the wall with chalk where the bull's-eye should line up. According to the rules of darts, the bull's-eye should be 5 feet 8 inches from the ground. You can use this mark on the wall as a guide when inserting the mounting screws.
Turn the board backward so you can see where the mounting screws or brackets will fit onto the board. Using this as your guide, insert the screws into the stud in the wall with a screwdriver so that the board will hang with the bull's-eye lined up with the mark on the wall.
Turn the board around and hang it on the mounting screws or bracket and grab your darts. It's time to play.
