How to Make a Horse Racing Game

Horse racing at the track is a high-profit industry enjoyed by millions of racing fans. Arriving at the track and placing your bets on the horse of your choosing can be an exhilarating experience. The Horse Racing Game is an adaptation of horse racing that attempts to harness the excitement, anticipation and touch of luck that an evening at an actual horse racing track creates, without the concern of losing real money to the track.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a grid of 1-inch by 1-inch boxes 11 spaces wide and three spaces tall.

    • 2

Draw an additional five rows on the grid, with the next row above the 11-by-3 grid featuring nine spaces, the next seven, the next five, the next three and the final one space. All the rows should be centered, creating a tapered pyramid shape atop the 11-by-3 grid.

    • 3

Number the boxes in the bottom row of the grid, farthest from the tapered section, from two to 12.

    • 4

Cut 22 index cards in half, creating 44 cards.

    • 5

Trace the outline of a card onto the poster board four times. These will be scratch positions, where the four scratched horses go every race.

    • 6

Label the 44 index cards with the numbers two to 12, with four cards for each number.

    • 7

Place the poster board, index cards, tokens and a pair of dice into the box to complete the game.
