Choose the placement of the dartboard, taking into account the required lengths and widths for play. Mounting the dartboard against a wooden surface is best, because wood lessens the chance of bounce-back from the darts, and less damage will occur to the point of any dart that misses its mark.
Using a measuring tape, measure 68 inches from the floor up the wall, and with a pencil, make a dot marking this spot. Position the dartboard mounting bracket to the wall, and line up the dot with the bracket's center groove. Take the spirit level and align it to the top of the bracket and adjust the bracket until it is exactly level. Draw a circle in each of the bracket holes with the pencil and onto the wall.
Use a screwdriver and fasten the mounting bracket to the wall with wood screws using the wall marks as a guide. Turn the dartboard over, and measure across the diameter of the board with the measuring tape. Mark the halfway point of the measurement with a pencil dot on back of the dartboard. This gives the exact center of the back of the dartboard, which aligns with the mounting bracket groove.
Using the screwdriver, fasten 3/4 of a 1-inch wood screw into the center dot you marked on to the dartboard back, leaving the last 1/4 inch of the screw unfastened. Position the dartboard rubber bumpers on the back of the board at three equal intervals, inset around the circumference of the dartboard. Fasten the bumpers to the board with wood screws.
Lift the dartboard onto the mounting bracket and align the center screw head into the bracket groove. Adjust the center wood screw if the board is not flush to the wall. You can screw and unscrew as required to create a flush fit. Adjust the rubber bumpers by unscrewing them slightly, if the wall is uneven, so that there is no lateral movement in the dartboard.
