How to Make Game Board Buzzers

Board games and quiz games are at their best on TV, but re-creating the same atmosphere and sense of competition at home can be difficult. Building sets and hiring a presenter might not be practical, but the simple addition of buzzers for each player can add a jolt of excitement as everyone jumps for the button to answer the questions.

Instructions

Connect the batteries to the wireless door bell as instructed by the bell's manufacturer. A wireless door bell allows you to add extra radio-controlled buttons. Pair the additional buttons with the door chime as per the instructions. Brands will differ regarding their setup.

Give each player a button. Press each button individually to check they're all connected to the same chime unit. Where available, assign different chime tones to each button, although not all doorbells have this function.

    • 3

Each player should press his button before answering a question or progressing in the board game. By holding down the button, the light will show on the button of the first person to press. When one button is being pressed on the wireless doorbell, the other remote buttons will be rendered inoperative, determining who pressed first.
