Disney Edition Board Games

Disney has created its own versions of popular games like Sorry!, Monopoly, CandyLand, Clue and Trivial Pursuit. While Disney kept the basic premise of some of the games, it changed the premise for others to fit its family image. Clue is an example because the Disney edition does not involve a murder mystery. These games promise hours of entertainment for people of all ages.
  1. Sorry!

    • The Disney Edition of Sorry! has the same objective as the classic game--move all the pieces to the home spot first. Instead of solid-colored game pieces, the game comes with Disney characters that you place on stands. Play as Buzz Lightyear, Cruella De Vil, Dumbo, Bambi, or the Little Mermaid. These are five out of the 16 Disney characters that you can use to play.

The characters are grouped by color: blue for the heroes, red for the villains, yellow for princesses and green for animal stars such as Simba. If you draw a card that has your color on it, you have to do certain tasks that will either help you or hinder your progress toward moving all your characters to the home spot. The game comes with a 20" by 20" game board, a deck of cards, 16 Disney characters with colored stands and instructions.

    Trivial Pursuit

    • The Disney version of Trivial Pursuit focuses on the animated films, rather than the theme parks or Walt Disney. Although the game was designed for six people, up to 24 can play. Trivial Pursuit Disney Edition comes with Mickey-shaped wedges, a specialized card holder, a sorcerer's hat for kids, and 1,800 trivia cards.

The trivia cards are divided in half, one half for adults and the other for children. Adult trivia contains the following categories:

      Heroes and Heroines

      Once Upon a Time

      Monsters &Villains

      Supporting Stars

      Places and Props

      The Wonderful World of Disney

Children's cards do not have categories. The cards are designed with the question and answer on one side and a screenshot of a Disney film on the other.

    Disney Haunted Mansion Clue

    • Disney Haunted Mansion Clue softens the original intent of Clue by scrapping the murder mystery. Instead, players get to find out who was scared by which ghost and in what room of the mansion. Players still have to move about the rooms to gather clues and write their guesses on their detective pads.

The game includes six character game pieces, six glow-in-the-dark ghost game pieces, ghost and room cards, "Madame Leota's Reading" envelope, illustrated character and detective pads.
