Instructions
Cut a rectangular piece of cardboard measuring 10 inches by 16.
Create a rectangular tube from the piece of cardboard; fold it widthwise into four equal sections, then fold the ends to meet one another. Attach these ends using masking tape, first taping short strands across the seam, then running a single, long piece of tape across the entire length of the seam.
Cut a half-circle hole in one end and one side of the cardboard tube, forming an arch. Make this arch about two inches high and as wide as that side of the tube.
Trace the opposite end of the tube on a piece of cardboard to draw a square of the same size. Cut this out.
Trim one end off the cardboard square by an inch.
Apply glue to three of the edges of the cardboard square, leaving the end you just trimmed unglued.
Insert the cardboard square into the top of the cardboard and glue it at a 45-degree angle about five inches down from the top. This will make a slanted, partial shelf inside the tube to redirect the dice as they fall, ensuring that they spin and randomize.
Attach the tube to the inside of the cardboard box. Position it against an inner edge of the box (preferably a short end) with the half-circle hole facing the inside of the box and on the bottom. Glue the tube against the inside of the box to secure it.
Paint and decorate the dice roller as desired.
