Instructions

    • 1

Glue one piece of poster board to the cardboard piece for your board. Allow the board to dry.

    • 2

List the properties for your board. There should be 22 properties, four railroads, two utilities, two taxes, three chance and three community chest spaces, plus corner places for Free Parking, Go, Jail and Go To Jail. Be creative about your property names and taxes. If your theme is dinosaurs, try a Predator Tax. Instead of Jail, have characters get stuck in a Tar Pit and so on.

    • 3

Divide your board into four corner spaces with nine spaces in between on each side using a marker and the yard stick. Arrange the properties from cheapest to most expensive, with some utilities and other spaces among them. Decorate each game space and color-coordinate the properties that are grouped together.

    • 4

Draw the community chest and chance card spaces in the middle of the board.

    • 5

Cut the second piece of poster board into small cards to serve as the deeds for each piece of property, railroad and utility on the board. Decorate each card to coordinate with its spot on the game board.

    • 6

Cut the third piece of poster board into cards for the chance pile and community chest, as many of each as you want. Chance cards should move pieces to different areas of the board, such as a property or jail. Community chest cards pay money, or require the player to pay money into the community chest. Theme your chance cards or community chest cards to go with your game.

    • 7

Cut as much money as you would like to use with the game in increments of $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 and $500 out of the plain paper. Use a separate color for each denomination if you have different colors of paper, or just use all white.

    • 8

Collect or make at least six game pieces and two game dice. If you do not have dice, make two small six-sided boxes and write numbers on each side.
