Pretty Pretty Princess Rules

Released by Milton Bradley and Hasbro in 1990, Pretty Pretty Princess is a children&'s board game recommended for two to four players. Players roll and move around a game board collecting a colored set of costume jewelry by landing on corresponding locations. It inspires creativity, imagination and fantasy in children of all ages.
  1. Setup

    • Apply the jewel stickers to their corresponding shapes on the crown and jewelry box as shown on the game box, using the green diamond jewels for the crown only. Remove the film from the mirror, unwrap all jewelry and place in the jewelry box.

    Preparing to Play

    • Assemble the game board in clockwise order: blue, pink, green, purple. It will only fit together in this way. Place the jewelry box in the center of the board, removing the lid, which doubles as the spinner, and setting it nearby. Chose your jewelry color (blue, pink, green or purple) and sit facing the game board accordingly. Place your colored pawn on any space of the game board path except for corners.

    How to Play

    • At the beginning of each game, each player spins the spinner. The player with the highest number goes first and play continues clockwise from there. On your turn, spin the spinner and move your pawn clockwise around the board. Follow the directions of the space your pawn lands on. It is okay for players to land on a space already occupied by another player.

    Spaces

    • There are several kinds of spaces your pawn can land on during play.

Jewelry spaces: These dictate which piece of your particular color of jewelry you can collect from the jewelry box and put on. For earring spaces, you may only collect one earring at a time. If you&'re already wearing the jewelry piece of the space your pawn lands on, your turn is over.

Crown: Each time a player lands on the crown space, the crown must pass into the possession of the most current player to arrive on the space. Take the crown either from the jewelry box or from the player wearing it, and put it on.

Black Ring: If your pawn lands on the black ring space, you must wear the ring until you can get rid of it or another player lands on the space and relieves you of it. You cannot win the game while in possession of the black ring.

Put One Back: This space allows you to get rid of the black ring if you are currently wearing it. If you do not have the black ring you must put one other piece of jewelry back into the jewelry box. If you do not have any jewelry to put back nothing happens and your turn is over.

Take Any Piece: You may select any piece of jewelry in your color, including the crown, and put it on.

    How to Win

    • Be the first player to collect a full set of jewelry in your color (two earrings, one necklace, one ring and one bracelet) plus the crown without being in possession of the black ring. The winner looks into the mirror on the flip-side of the spinner and is deemed the "Pretty Pretty Princess."
