Card Games
Card games are a great way for two people to pass the time indoors and have fun. Not only are these card games fun, but they're an educational alternative to TV. Many card games instill counting skills and use of logic. Games like Go Fish, Old Maid, Memory, and War are all card games that are fun for two people.
Board Games
Many board games are already made for at least two people, and because they often take a long time to play all the way through, they're perfect for boring rainy days. Not only are they a fun time-waster, some offer educational purposes as well. For example, Clue is a detective game that will help children use logic and clues to figure out which character is the killer and Scrabble is a spelling game which challenges players to use correct words. Battleship, chess, checkers, Connect Four, Operation, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Sorry, and the ever-popular classic, Monopoly are all board games that are fun to play with two people.
Video Games
Video games often get a bad rap from people who think they are useless and offer no educational purpose. However, not only can many games offer strategical puzzles and inspire a use of logic, they're also fun to play. Some new Nintendo games even offer exercise. Two people can have a blast playing different video games on many gaming systems, such as the xBox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii. Some video games that are fun to play for two people are, Wii Resort, Wii Fitt, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Party, Halo, Gears Of War, Call of Duty and NBA Live. Not only can two friends play together, but if you're signed up online you can even battle other people across the globe, placing you and your friend on a team rather than against each other.
Other Games
Indoor games for two people are not limited to store-bought structured games because there are plenty of other types of games to play. You could always build a puzzle together and see who can use their pieces up the fastest. These speed challenges can also be done with completing a Rubik's cube. Another fun game to play is drawing half of a picture and having your friend complete the image. Hand games, starring contests and Rock, Paper, Scissors are fun games requiring no boards, cards or dice. Pen and paper games, like hang-man or tic-tac-toe, are also fun for two.
