How to Play Monopoly Tropical Tycoon on DVD

Monopoly Tropical Tycoon is a variation of the traditional Monopoly game by Parker Brothers. A DVD accompanies the game and is used to determine various actions, rewards and fines throughout the game. While the game itself is not played on a television or a computer the game play on the board requires the DVD elements.

Instructions

  Set up the Monopoly board on a flat surface and place each of the player's pieces on the starting space labeled "Go."

  Insert the DVD into a DVD player connected to a TV or computer near the playing area.

  Roll the dice to determine how many spaces to move. When a player lands on a property they have the option to purchase the property like standard Monopoly. Players earn fortune tokens through landing on certain spaces and through collection of properties.

  Play the DVD whenever a player lands on "Community Chest" or "Chance" spaces and select the associated option on screen to see what the on screen card indicates the next action will be. (Examples include earning tokens, proceeding to a property or losing money.)

  Play the DVD whenever a player rolls the dice and a "TV" symbol on one of the dice appears on top after a roll. Select the associated "TV dice symbol" icon on the DVD and press "Play" to see what action is taken.

  Develop purchased properties with casinos, amusement parks and piers. This is similar to the hotel and house concept from regular Monopoly. Depending on the property listing the property may only be eligible for certain types of development structures.

  Continue play until one player goes bankrupt or all players agree to end the game. Count up each player's number of properties and developed properties and add up the dollar values listed on each property. Award additional fortune tokens to each player for each applicable property and developed properties (number of tokens is indicated on the property.)

  Determine the winner of the game by seeing which player has the most fortune tokens at the end of the game.
