How to Play Clue Junior

Clue Junior is a mystery game designed for two to four players ages five to seven. According to Hasbro, "You're in a great big mansion, where there are kids playing with pets in the rooms. But there's somebody else in the house! Someone is hiding with a pet, and it's your job to play detective and find the missing child." This game is a spin-off of the popular adult game "Clue" and teaches children problem-solving skills in a fun and exciting way. Children will move from room to room, trying to figure out who is hiding. The game does not require that children be able to read.

Instructions

  1. Clue Junior Game Instructions

    • 1

Choose which color mover you want to be, and put your mover on the space that matches your mover. There are four colors to choose from.

    • 2

Get a piece of paper and a pencil.

    • 3

Place a mystery card in the clue revealer sleeve without looking at it.

    • 4

Spin the spinner and move your game piece in any direction. If you do not have a game spinner, you may use dice instead.

    • 5

If you land in front of a room, you may look inside the room. Note on your piece of paper which child and pet are in the room.

    • 6

If someone is already on the space you would normally land on, skip that space and go to the next.

    • 7

If someone is already on the space you would land on, but it's in front of a room you want to see, wait until your next turn. Instead of spinning, you may use that turn to look in the room.

    • 8

If you land on a Secret Passageway square, you may move your mover to any other Secret Passageway. This uses up your entire turn.

    • 9

If you land on a magnifying glass, you may look into any room that does not already have a player in front of it.

    • 10

When you feel you have looked in enough rooms to solve the puzzle, you may use your turn to guess. Tell the other players that you are ready to solve the mystery, and look in the clue revealer sleeve. If you are correct, you win the game. If you are incorrect, you are out of the game. Put the card back in the mystery clue revealer sleeve while the other players finish the game.
