Things You'll Need
Instructions
Read the rules of the game you need a replacement for carefully to ensure you know what your peg board will need to include.
Design your board on a piece of paper before cutting your wood. If you have the board you are replacing, you can copy the design. If you do not, ensure that your design has space for everything the peg board will be needed to track.
Cut the plank to the appropriate size with the saw, being sure to have at least one piece of scrap wood.
Use the scrap wood to determine the required bit size by drilling into the wood and attempting to insert a peg from the game into it. If it will not fit, drill again with your next largest bit. If it is too loose, try the next smallest, until you have a hole that yields a snug fit.
Drill holes in the peg board that are deep enough to hold the pegs without going through the plank, in the required peg locations.
Stain the plank a color of your choosing that is aesthetically pleasing.
Decorate your board and implement any required markings, such as labels on rows of peg holes, using markers or paint.
Apply a layer of lacquer to the plank to protect the board, as well as give it an attractive shine.
