Trivial Pursuit
Trivial Pursuit is possibly the most well known trivia board game of all time. This game comes in many different additions, such as the Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture game, the 25th Anniversary Edition and the Trivial Pursuit Team Game. The goal of this game is to move around the game board by being able to correctly answer trivia questions that are divided into six different categories. The categories are color coded on both the board and the accompanying question cards. When a player correctly answers a question, a plastic wedge is placed on the board to show the player answered the question with the right answer.
Scene It?
Another popular trivia game is Scene It?. This game contains eight different categories in which players have to answer questions, three of which require the use of a DVD player and the included DVD. For the DVD questions, the players watch a scene from a movie, and then answer a question pertaining to the scene. There are also trivia questions that do not require the game players to watch the DVD.
Smarty Party
In the game of Smarty Party, one player reads questions out loud to other game players. The players then shout out various answers to the question, such as "Name the actors in the movie Titanic." If a player answers a question incorrectly he or she receives a penalty chip. Those that receive a penalty chip are forced to move forward on the game board, while those answering correctly will not advance as quickly. When players reach the end of the game, the person that has not advanced as far is the winner.
