Apply the Rules of Baseball
Each player keeps one of the two dice. Roll to see who is the visiting team, which bats first. The player batting first puts a marker at home plate and each player rolls the dice. The combination of the roll dictates the success or failure of the batter. The regular rules of baseball apply during the course of the game. For example, the team batting can continue to bat until the third out is made. Once this occurs, the diamond is turned around so your opposition can place his marker at home plate and proceed to bat against you.
Making Outs
The following dice combinations can translate into outs. Remember, you and your opponent each throw a die. If the roll equals a 2 or a 6, you can play ump and yell strike! Roll a 2 or a 6 three times in a row and the batter strikes out. Roll a 2 and a 6 followed by an 11 and you can breathe a sigh of relief. Your batter has fouled the ball off and will see another pitch as an 11 is equivalent to fouling off a baseball. Roll a 3 or a 7 and this is a high, deep drive caught at the wall! Rolling a 3 and 7 translates into a fly out; 5 and 9 are groundouts.
Scoring Runs
Your offensive punch will come when you roll a 4. Rolling a four produces a single. Roll an 8 and you call it deep into the gap, as it equals a double. Roll a 10 and your batter has hit a triple. If you have bases loaded you're going to find yourself aching for double 6's, as a 12 produces a home run.
