Halex Darts Instructions

Halex darts is a dart game that uses a special electronic board. The board has a built-in computer that registers scoring in a game, allowing players to play without needing to total up points manually. It also has several versions of dart games programmed into it and allows for multiple players or one player. A standard game board comes with six soft-tipped darts and the needed mounting screws.
  1. Mounting and Preparing the Board

    • There must be at least 10 feet of space in front of the wall where the dart board is mounted and an available electrical outlet. Attach screws with studs into the wall 6 feet, 7 3/4 inches from the ground to hang the board. The toe line--which shows how far back the players should be--should be marked on the floor 7 feet, 9 1/4 inches from the wall. Once the board is mounted and plugged in, turn it on and listen for the music. Once the music stops, the dart board is ready to use. Make sure you use the right type of darts with this board; you need soft-tip darts, as metal tips will damage the board.

    Controls

    • The board's "Game" button lets you search through the programmed games. The "Player/Page" button selects the number of players in the game, with a maximum of eight. The "Cybermatch" button is used for a single player against the computer. This button will select the difficulty level for a single-player game by pressing it repeatedly. The "Select" button chooses this difficulty level for multiple-player games. The "Start/Hold" button begins the game. The "Game Guard" locks and unlocks the buttons to prevent interference of a game when a dart hits a button. "Double/Miss" registers throws that miss the target. The "Hold" button halts and resumes the game. "Sound" adjusts the game's sound level, "Bounce Out" prevents registering darts that bounce off the board, and "Reset" starts the game over.

    Play and Scoring

    • A Halex dart game uses the same basic scoring method as regular dart games. Players score 50 points for hitting the inner circle of the bull's-eye and 25 points for the outer ring surrounding it. Other points are scored based on the numbers printed outside the individual sections of the board. Players double these points for hitting the large outside ring and triple points for hitting the middle ring. Darts that bounce off the board without sticking will register for points; it's the players' decision to count them or use the "Bounce Out" button. There are numerous other games to play that are programmed into the computer.
