Rules for the Aggravation Game

Aggravation is a game by Milton Bradley where you move your marbles around a game board. The first player to get all of his marbles home first, wins the game. The game is called Aggravation because if you land on a spot that is occupied by another player, you aggravate her by sending her marble back to the start of the game.
  1. Set Up

    • The game begins with each player choosing four marbles of the same color and placing them in the base spot on the board that is the same color as their marbles. There are six different colors (red, orange, blue, white, green and yellow) so two to six people can play at a time. Players choose who will go first and then game play goes clockwise. Players can roll the dice have the person with the highest number go first.

    How to Play

    • The first player to roll has to roll a 1 or a 6 in order to get out of home base. If a 1 is rolled, the player moves out and sits in the first space until it is his turn again. If a player rolls a 6, then she gets another turn to roll. Players move their marbles clockwise around the game board until they reach home. An exact number must be rolled on the dice to enter home. If a player can't roll the exact number and has no other moves, play passes to the next person. During game play, you can jump over another player but if you land on another player's space, you must send him back to the start. You can not jump your own marbles.

    Shortcuts

    • There are optional shortcuts in your home area. These shortcuts appear as stars in the center of the game board. When your marble lands on the star by an exact count, on your next roll you may move your marble clockwise on the stars in the center, exit on any path on the game board and continue with any remaining dice count. This can place you closer to your home.
