  Paint your old game board a solid color. White works best as it is the easiest to add other colors to. Once the game board has dried, use a black paint-pen to create spaces around the board. Fill the perimeter of the board with squares similar to the setup of a Monopoly game.

  Log onto the American Girl website and print pictures for each one of the historical American girls. Cut out the faces of the girls and attach each one to a space on the board. These will be trivia spaces.

  Create a starting space on the board. Players will begin there and move clockwise around the game board by rolling a die each turn.

  Decorate the rest of the spaces with paint pens. Have each empty space tell the player to perform an action such as losing a turn, moving ahead spaces, or something fun like sharing a story of their favorite activity or sport with the other players.

  Create a list of trivia questions for each American Girl Doll. Use the website and any American Girl Doll books you have. Players will answer these questions when they land on the corresponding space.

  Create an accessory that corresponds to each American Girl represented on the board. You can use pre-made accessories such as Julie's roller skates or Kirsten's quilt, or make your own. Answering a trivia question correctly will win the player an accessory for their doll. The winner is the first player to obtain every accessory.

  Customize the center of the board with pictures of your favorite American Girl or pictures of your friends and their favorite dolls. Make the game personalized for you and your friends.
