How to Make a Castle Game
Decide how you want to play the game. Before you design your castle, figure out how you want your game to be played. Do you want the pieces to move in a straight line, jump or curve? Do you want spaces that send it back to the beginning? This is where you decide how you want your pieces to move across the board.
Design your castle. Once you have the layout of your board, draw rooms. Include a throne room, treasury, gold room, king's chamber, queen's chamber, chapel, armory, dungeon and other rooms you would find in a castle.
Color in your design. Use markers, crayons and colored pencils to color in the rooms.
Make game spaces. Add some spaces that prompt you to select cards, go back to the start, jump x number of spaces, trade places with another player, go to a specific room and so on. These will be the little complications that make the game fun. Decide what the prompts will be, using the index cards. Fill in the cards with rewards and such.
Gather your pieces and play. You could use buttons because they are easy to replace if lost. You will also need a pair of dice to roll.
