Instructions

    • 1

Take a board, all the pieces of one color, and 12 pieces of food. Place 5 of your people on your board. Place the main game board in the center of the table, placing each resource atop its picture, a card on each of the four card spaces, and four stacks of 7 buildings each on the hut spaces. Place your large score cube on zero, and your small food cube on the bottom of the food track.

    • 2

Take your turn by placing one of your people from your board onto a space on the main board. If you are placing on a resource space, you may place multiple people at once. The player to your left then places a person on a space. Continue around in a circle until all players have placed all of the people from their board.

    • 3

Retrieve your people from the main board back onto your board, activating each space as you leave it. When leaving the family hut space, take one of your people from the stock and add it to your small board. When leaving the tool space, take a tool. When leaving the farm space, advance your food track counter by one. When leaving a card space, you may pay the signified number of resources to purchase that card.

    • 4

Gather resources when leaving a resource space by rolling one die for each person you placed on that space. For example, if you are retrieving 3 people from the wood space, roll 3 dice. You may add 1 to your roll for each tool you have. Divide the total of your roll by the value of that resource as printed on your board and take the amount of the appropriate resource.

    • 5

Build a hut by removing one of your people from the hut space, and paying the resources indicated on the hut. If you do so, add the hut to your board, revealing the next hut in the stack, and score the number of points in the upper left of the hut.

    • 6

End the turn once all players have removed all people from the board. Take one food for each point you have on the food track, and then pay one food for each person on your small board. If you do not have enough food to do so, you lose 10 points. Flip over new cards from the deck to fill the card spaces, and start a new round at Step 2.

    • 7

End the game when one of the stacks of huts or the deck of cards runs out. Count the number of green cards you have, square that number, and add it to your score. Add any bonus points as indicated on cards you have bought. The player with the most points wins.
