In order to teach about nutrition, it is important to use several tactics. One of the tactics can be to make a board game that deals with the subject. you can get students or children engaged in the learning process while they are having fun. A board game that deals with nutrition can be a great way to peak anyone's interest in the subject and start them off on the road to healthy nutrition.

  • Large piece of cardboard
  • Construction paper
  • Glue
  • Markers/crayons
  • Tokens

Instructions

  1. Create Your Board

      Cover the cardboard with construction paper in any color.

      Create a path for the players to follow out of construction paper of a different color, or with markers and crayons. Color each of the squares with paper of markers in either red, blue, yellow or green. The path of squares can go around the board or can be in a different pattern.

      Decorate the rest of the game board in any way that you choose. Designs like healthy foods or people exercising are always a good idea.

    Design the Game

      Cut construction paper cards that are red, blue, yellow and green. These should all be the same size.

      Write a question on each of the cards that deals with nutrition. These can be questions that are from a book, from lesson plans or simply public knowledge about nutrition.

      Have the cards face down on the board game sheet.

      Assign tokens to each player.

    Playing the Game

      Players should role the dice to determine the number of spaces to move.

      When a player lands on a square, another player should read the corresponding color's question for them. If the player gets the question right, she can roll again. If she doesn't, her turn is over.

      Write the rules on the board game itself for easy playing and self-instruction.
